Mike Lazaridus, Co-CEO of RIM and Kevin Lynch, Adobe CTO, gathered some of the Adobe applications that are in the tablet BlackBerry textbook designed to be seen. In addition to seeing that play YouTube video site, complete with Adobe Flash, the pair also showed the music player and a media player of the tablet, both written in Adobe AIR. Lazaridus discussed how Adobe Air "embedded" is used with the BlackBerry operating system on the table and allows multitasking between applications.
While Lazaridus announced the release of the BlackBerry Software Developer Kit for Adobe Air, he also provided some motivation for code writers in the audience. Anyone who writes an app for RIM's new tablet, which gets the green light to be distributed on BlackBerry App World, will be eligible to receive a free BlackBerry PlayBook.
